Thomas Carroll Named Chief Executive Officer of GenSpring

ATLANTA, Oct. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE: STI) and GenSpring Family Offices today announced that Thomas M. Carroll has been named Chief Executive Officer of GenSpring Family Offices, SunTrust’s multi-family office affiliate providing independent advice to families of substantial wealth. He succeeds Maria Elena (Mel) Lagomasino who has announced plans to leave the firm.

Mr. Carroll most recently led SunTrust’s Sports and Entertainment Group which provides private wealth management services to sports, music and entertainment professionals and executives as well as financial services to sports, music and film organizations. A 16-year SunTrust veteran, Mr. Carroll has held increasingly responsible positions in the Private Wealth Management business including serving as Wealth Services Manager in Atlanta.
