Banking, Finance, Press Releases

Events throughout the year reflect PNC’s commitment to the LGBT community.

PITTSBURGH, June 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — The PNC Financial Services Group (NYSE: PNC) celebrates the diversity of its employees and customers by recognizing Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) PRIDE Month.

In its fifth year of sponsoring Pride Month activities, PNC will host 32 community and employee events in 27 cities – more than ever before. Locations include Asbury Park, N.J.; Atlanta; Baltimore; Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago; Cincinnati; Cleveland; Columbus, Ohio; Detroit; Durham, N.C.; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Harrisburg, Pa.; Holland, Mich.; Indianapolis; Kalamazoo, Mich.; Lancaster, Pa.; Lexington, Ky.; Louisville, Ky.; Maplewood, N.J.; Milwaukee; Orlando, Fla.; Palm Beach, Fla.; Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; Port St. Lucie, Fla.; Raleigh, N.C.; and Washington, D.C.

“As the LGBT community continues to make tremendous progress−from federal court rulings on marriage equality to new legislation around employment non-discrimination−PNC’s diversity and inclusion programs that focus on LGBT employees and customers are gaining momentum in participation and widespread support,” said Marsha Jones, PNC’s chief diversity officer. “We are deeply committed to creating and sustaining a diverse culture in which all employees, customers and communities are best served.”

In 2014, PNC’s LGBT Employee Business Resource Group (EBRG), PNC Proud, surpassed 1,000 members, and PNC was named a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality by the Human Rights Campaign for the third time. This award recognizes PNC for its LGBT EBRG, its inclusion training, its partnership with local and national LGBT organizations and its extended benefits for employees’ domestic partners, among other resources and benefits. In addition, PNC publicly backed a bill that extends non-discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodation to sexual orientation and gender identity in the state of Pennsylvania.
